Great write up! From what I heard, the candy consumption and love of running has you half way there on the trails! And Boulder isn’t the worst place to cross over to the dark side when you’re ready! Thanks again for having me at the women’s night, absolutely a better vibe than anything academic I’ve gotten to do!

I'm definitely halfway there when it comes to my preferred snacks. We should go for a trail run back in CO!

Loved your TrailCon recap! I'm getting caught back up on the trail world after stepping away for several years and this was such a good picture of an event I'm still new to knowing exists. I've wandered plenty of expo floors, and you captured the exact thing that makes some of them feel hollow and others feel alive—the Women's Trail Foundation booth being the busiest says everything.

Thanks for reading, glad it was a helpful recap! I’m excited to explore the trail world more.

Folks, we've inspired another road runner to run 100 miles!

If you decide to run a 100-mile race in California, please reach out for crew or pacing support.

On an old episode of Road Dog Podcast, host Luis Escobar referred to “road running” as “street racing” and I said to myself ‘Y’know? That sounds kinda badass!!! Punk Rock, if you will - I’m going to start incorporating that phrase/text into my own work’

YMMV

Great write up, I really appreciate hearing your refreshing perspective on trail and ultra, both the running and culture. One thing about trail running I found, it’s much easier to forget about pace and just find that harmony of yourself connecting with the natural world. Have fun out there!

Looking forward to my first trail race!

I'm a big fan of your newsletter. Just wanted to say that. And if I can "run" 100km you can definitely complete a 100 mile! Keep up the good work.

Btw your event looked cool. And you got SJ there too haha.
